At Iconic Fames, we take pride in showcasing stories of individuals who have transformed their passions into successful ventures, inspiring others along the way. Shivani Singh Deo’s journey from a dedicated IT professional to a celebrated entrepreneur in the baking industry is a story that resonates with our core values of perseverance, creativity, and empowerment. It’s an honor to feature her in our magazine, not just as a successful businesswoman, but as a beacon of inspiration for others who may be at a crossroads in their lives.
Motherhood often introduces a transformative phase in a woman’s life, sometimes pausing or even ending her professional journey. However, this significant milestone doesn’t have to spell the end of a woman’s ambitions. Shivani Singh Deo’s story exemplifies this truth.
A former IT professional, Shivani transitioned into entrepreneurship and now proudly owns Bake 4 Me, a home-based bakery that has become a household name in the Tricity area. Since 2016, her bakery has been delighting customers with a variety of offerings, including cheesecakes, gluten-free keto cakes, and tea cakes. Known for its commitment to excellence, Bake 4 Me maintains the highest standards of sanitation, ensuring that only the best reaches its customers.
The arrival of motherhood came at a pivotal point in Shivani’s career. After over a decade in a mid-level management role, she was ready to explore new opportunities. However, instead of pursuing a new career path, she chose the fulfilling role of full-time motherhood. This decision also allowed her to explore her passion for cooking and baking, which had always been close to her heart. With encouragement from friends and family, she decided to turn her hobby into a profession, despite some wondering why she didn’t join her husband in his successful business. For Shivani, it was crucial to establish an identity of her own.
Shivani’s baking journey was significantly shaped by the mentorship of Ms. Sarita Banerjee, who helped her hone her skills. With this newfound expertise, she launched Bake 4 Me, which has grown steadily over the years. Six years later, she expanded her venture by opening a Cake Studio and Baking Institute in Sector 35 D, Chandigarh. The institute offers certified courses to aspiring bakers and provides hobby classes, including special weekend and evening sessions for working professionals. Monthly, the institute also hosts kid-friendly classes, where children can experiment and learn the art of baking.
Shivani’s bakery offers an extensive range of products, from cakes and healthy snacks to breads, cookies, desserts, jar cakes, and chocolates. Following initial success, Bake 4 Me introduced gluten-free keto cakes and goodies, which quickly became customer favorites. Today, Shivani stands among the most creative bakers in the Tricity area, a testament to her passion and skill. The support of her mentor, Sarita Banerjee, was instrumental in her success.
Shivani’s journey offers valuable advice to expectant mothers: maintain a positive attitude and don’t impose unnecessary restrictions on yourself. With determination and careful decision-making, everything will fall into place. Passion, coupled with the right skills and a commitment to learning, can lead to remarkable achievements.
