Dr. Sudhir N. Solanke, born on April 24, 1979, is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of plant taxonomy, with a particular specialization in the taxonomy of flowering plants. With over two decades of dedicated work in the botanical sciences, he has carved a niche for himself through his extensive floristic studies and scientific contributions.
Dr. Solanke pursued his post-graduation with a focus on angiosperm taxonomy and later undertook in-depth doctoral research, culminating in his Ph.D. thesis titled “Floristic Studies in Cyperaceae in the State of Andhra Pradesh.” His scholarly commitment to the Cyperaceae family spans more than 22 years, during which he conducted intensive field surveys across diverse regions of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Research Center, Department of Botany, Shri Muktanand College, Gangapur, affiliated with Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. A dedicated mentor, he is guiding two Ph.D. students in their research endeavors, continuing his commitment to academic growth and scientific inquiry.
A life member of the Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy (IAAT), Dr. Solanke has an impressive academic portfolio with over 27 research papers published in reputed scientific journals and 25 papers presented at national and international conferences. His scholarly output also includes two authored books, further reflecting his deep engagement in botanical research.
In addition to his publications, he has actively participated in more than 35 national and international conferences, making notable contributions to the scientific community through his insights and research findings.
