Dr. Vilas Janardan Deshmukh is man with compassion and passionately working on his ideas tirelessly in the field of education, academics, social and cultural aspects of community. A very touching statement, rather fact of his life is like “Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession.” He is a good public speaker with wise sense of humour which adds potential to his speeches. His talks ultimately show reality and dependence of human beings on each other and especially on nature. He has cultivated his chance to choice and proved every chance can be turned into successful choice if it is chased with consistent effort. Such type of identical personality cannot be shaped without efforts and participation in society in every sphere of life. He belongs to a village Mohadi from Dindori taluka of Nashik district. He has completed his master degrees respectively Master of Social Work from IMRT, Nashik and Master of Arts in Political Science from HPT College, Nashik. His passion towards teaching and alienation with youth attracts him to become professor. He chased the dream and it came into existence from 1997 he is working in the IMRT, Nashik as professor. Since 2007 he is acting principal in MVP’S College of Social Work, Nashik. During the journey he added so many potential efforts to the holistic development of his surrounded people as students, colleagues, and ultimately for college. During this a feather of proud is capped as he has been awarded Ph.D in social work by Kaviyatri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Under his visionary leadership college is marching to excellence.
His topic for Ph.D is Role of Gramsabhas in village development and he covered almost entire Nashik district with proper representation. He has chosen his Ph.D topic with care and vision so he can contribute to benefit of the society. With this view he is working on social and educational development of Mohadi village and part of cluster development activities line out through Sahyadri Farmers Producers Company.
His unique approach turns the things to 360 degrees to make impossible to possible. He has done it and we can have few examples like it. Experience of delivering service is really with Sevabhav as he worked with Nehru Yuva Kendra and Dang Seva Mandal in tribal villages of Nashik District in his studentship. He always motivates people to go jump, chase and achieve. For this featured development trainings and seminars supported him enormously as in 1991attended National Integration Camp, at Godhara, Gujrat for 10 days, in 1992 participated in Gandhi Vichar Parishad, Sevagram, Vardha for 15 days, in 1994 attended N.S.V. Training Camp, at Jalgaon Nehru Yuva Kendra, for 10 days and came with approach of public participation in village development. In 1996 participated in Social Investigator Camp, at Nashik organised by UNICEF for 7days. In 1998 attended a very sensitive topic sensibly as AIDS Educator Training Camp at Pune Sevadham Trust for 2days. In 1998 participated in Child Right Trainer Training Camp at Nashik organised by UNICEF for 5 days. In 2000 attended S.H.G. Trainer Training Camp at Chembur arranged by UNICEF for 7days. In 2005 participated in one day Zonal Seminar on ‘Rehabilitation of Disabled’ at Nashik. In 2006 participated in Faculty Development Programme at Nashik organised by ICFAI.
He is a versatile writer as contributing news paper articles, magazines, research papers and books. More than 10 books credited to his account regarding social work and professional development. His writings have spiritual foundations and it gives immense thought of practical facts. He has wide range of experience of monitoring and evaluation of social work intervention projects with various organizations. He used to sow seed of thought as food for thoughts especially for students and youth on contemporary social, political, economical and crises intervention.
