(World’s No.1 District Governor) (AMBASSADOR OF GOOD WILL AWARDEE)
Lion Deepak Bhattacharjee started his lionistic career 1st March 1982 and became Charter President of Lions Club of Secunderabad-Vivekanandapuram in 1990. He was installed as District Governor on 9.7.2013 at Hamburg, Germany. As District Governor he brought laurels to District 316-C by becoming No.1 District Governor of the world, out of 769 districts Governors, spread over in 210 countries by winning Dream Achiever’s FOUR STAR Gold Award. He was felicitated on the stage during Toranto International Convention in 2014. He was also extended all India felicitation by LCCI at New Delhi for his outstanding performance and for becoming No.1 Governor in the world. 528 eye balls (cornea), 31728 units of blood, 10 whole bodies were donated, 10 adult literacy centers opened, 7 snake bite treatment centers were opened, 14 ambulances and one Motor Cycle were donated, 267 R O water plants were installed in revenue District of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy District, Mahboobnagar & Nalgonda and part of West Bengal, various aids to physically challenged persons were donated to the tune of Rs.5.34 crores and 2000 solar lamps were distributed. In addition 1250 schools benches (dual desks) were donated to Government schools as a major service activity on the day of District Cabinet Installation.DURING HIS PERIOD OF GOVERNORSHIP. Till date He has explored CSR initiative to a tune of Rs.240.00+ Crores plus. For his CSR initiatives, he was conferred “AMBASSADOR OF GOOD WILL AWARD” (The highest award of Lions Clubs International) which was presented to him during the 101 st International convention at LAS VEGAS, USA, by International President Lion Naresh Agarwal, before about 30000 delegates on 30.06.2018 . He was the Group Co-ordinator during DG & VDG Elect, All India Schooling during 2018-19 at Hyderabad, , 2019-20 at New Delhi, 2022-23 at Bangalore, 2023-24 at Bangalore , 2024-25 at Chennai and 2024-25 at Kolkata. He is the Southern Regional head of All India LCIF CSR Committee. He was the Multiple District 320 Global Membership Team Coordinator of Lions Clubs International during 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23.He was GAT Area Leader for Multiple District 316 ( A P ) and Multiple District 320. ( Telangana ) during the year 2023-24 and 2024-25 appointed by International President. He is the LCIF Area Leader for the year 2025-26. He is Lion certified Trainer (LCIP graduate ). He is a life member of Lions Clubs International.
Profession.
Lion Deepak Bhattacharjee is Post Graduate in Law and Graduate in Science, Education and Law. He joined the legal profession in 1981 and practicing in High Court and Supreme Court since then, as leading Lawyer. About 400 plus judgments where he appeared are reported in leading law journals, which is an achievement by itself. He was Designated as Senior Advocate by the full court of High Court Of A P in the year 2016 and his name was published in the gazette of Andhra Pradesh .He was nominated as a member of Bar Council Of Andhra Pradesh along with another senior advocate by Bar Council of India and remained as member into Bar Council of A P And Bar Council Of Telengana. till the bar council was divided .During his tenure as members, he was responsible for enrollment of about 6000 advocates.
Accolades.
He is recipient of Nandini Seva Ratna Award , Received Andhra Pradesh State Literary Award in 1986 in the hands of Late N.T.Rama Rao, then Chief Minister for promoting works of Kavi Guru Rabindranath Tagore. He is former vocal artist of All India Radio and Door Darshan, Hyderabad. Recipient of Lions Clubs International President’s Medal nine times, International President’s Leadership Medal six r times, Club Extension Award twelve times, Leo Club Extension Award, Founder Membership Growth Award as Membership Chairperson in 2008-2009, A.P. State Excellence Award on World Tourism Day. International Presidents Appreciation Certificate 21 times and International Presidents Pin 28 Times. He is a FDI Graduate. He was given the name “Every Day Hero” in March 2016 by Lions Clubs International for his CSR activities.His bio data was published in LCI E magazine. He received prestigious INDIA ICON award declaring him as the best legal professional of the year 2023 .He received National Life Time Achievement award 2019 during 4 th National NGO and CSR Summit 2019. He is recipient of “GRAMODAYA BANDHU MITRA PURASKAR” given by GRAMODAYA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and Technology. He received “Bharat Shanti Doot” award (2020) from World Peace Festival Society, affiliated to United Nation Organisation. He also received Life Time Achievement Award in legal profession from 24 Social Craft Solution as Universal Excellence Award 2024
His spouse Lion Dr.Madhumita Bhattacharjee, mjf is Doctorate in Nuclear Chemistry from BARC, Pune. She was the Head of Department of Chemistry and Chairman, Board of Studies of Life Sciences in Bhavans Vivekananda Degree and PG College, Sainikpuri. His only son Sri Dishit Bhattacharjee also joined legal profession in the year 2012 after completing law graduation and practicing in High Court and Supreme Court.
