Mr. Vikar Mustafa Shonthu completed his schooling at Tyndale Biscoe School, Kashmir, and matriculated in 1976. A passionate sportsman, he excelled in hockey, cricket, volleyball, and squash, while golf remained his lifelong interest. He pursued a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Regional Engineering College (Kashmir) and graduated in 1984. That same year, he joined J&K Project Construction Corporation Ltd as a Deputy Manager. Through dedication and leadership, he steadily rose through the ranks, becoming Managing Director in 2018.
JKPCC, a semi-government organization, plays a crucial role in infrastructure development across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, employing around 11,000 workers. Mr. Shonthu was honored by multiple Chief Ministers and the Governor for his contributions. During his career, he worked with Japan’s Obayashi Corporation on the Nizamuddin Bridge in Delhi and later contributed to the Dubai Metro as a Construction Manager. Returning to JKPCC as Managing Director, he led key projects before retiring in 2021, marking an illustrious career in engineering and infrastructure development.
