Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeeb Pal, a distinguished academician and thought leader in hospitality education, currently serves as the Director of the Amity School of Hospitality and the Directorate of International Affairs at Amity University Rajasthan. He is also the NEP Coordinator of the university, playing a pivotal role in aligning academic strategies with the National Education Policy.
Since 2019, the Amity School of Hospitality has emerged as a benchmark institution under Dr. Pal’s visionary leadership. His commitment to academic excellence and a student-centric approach has nurtured a generation of global leaders in tourism and hospitality. The School offers a multidimensional learning experience, preparing students for dynamic careers in the global hospitality sector.
As the Director of International Affairs, Dr. Pal has successfully established international pathways for student growth through semester abroad programs, global scholarships, and collaborations with reputed institutions across the world. His efforts have enabled over 20 students to gain global exposure in countries such as the USA, New Zealand, Qatar, Dubai, Belgium, Mauritius, and France.
Dr. Pal’s credentials reflect his deep engagement in the academic and professional realms. He is a member of prestigious global and national bodies such as the Institute of Hospitality (UK), World Association of Master Chefs, ICAEW – Travel, Tourism & Hospitality Community, GSTC (USA), and ITHC. He also holds key positions in academic societies, including Vice President of the Society of Hospitality Educators and Life Member & former Vice Chairperson of ISTD, Jaipur.
With a career that began in operations with leading hotel chains like Taj, Marriott, and Holiday Inn, and later as Principal of Kohinoor Hospitality School, Dr. Pal brings a blend of industry insight and academic rigor. He holds a Ph.D. in Hotel Management & Tourism and is the author of four books with over 36 published research papers to his credit.
At Amity University Rajasthan, Dr. Pal introduced several innovative academic practices. Notably, he integrated Industry Weekend Internships into the internal assessment structure for hospitality students, ensuring a strong industry-academia linkage. Under his leadership, the BBA in Hospitality & Events Management was launched in 2023 to address emerging trends in the sector.
His leadership has also resulted in an exponential rise in faculty research—from 5 to 72 publications in just five years—as well as an increase in faculty development initiatives, with over 58 seminars and workshops attended. Notably, during his tenure, faculty members received 17 awards, while students won 16 awards, further attesting to the culture of excellence he has fostered.
Dr. Pal’s efforts have not gone unrecognized. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Indian Glory Award 2024, Satyamev Excellence in Education Award 2023, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Bharat Shiksha Award 2023, and the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Education Excellence Award, among others.
