For four consecutive years (2020–2023), he has been featured in the list of the top 2% of scientists worldwide, as compiled by Stanford University, USA. Leadership in Research and Innovation
As the Director of the Biofuels and Bioprocessing Research Center (BBRC) at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar, Prof. Sukla continues to lead pioneering research. With over 256 research papers published and 10 patents to his name, his work in microbial biotechnology, hydrometallurgy, and bioenergy is widely acknowledged for its originality and societal value.
