Dr. Prabagharan is a well-known expert in the subject of property management. Dr. Prabagharan Tanasegaran was born on 23rd December 1984, into a modest household in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Growing up, he observed the thriving development projects from the very heart of Kuala Lumpur, which sparked his lifelong interest and curiosity towards buildings. After realizing that he had been successful in the property management industry since the beginning of his profession more than ten years prior, he quickly discovered his calling.

When asked about his formula for success, Dr. Prabagharan said that the three engines: leadership, teamwork, and skills—are the most important components. He went on to say that the team and leadership elements are interdependent, with high chances of the team disintegrating without effective leadership and the leadership being useless without a strong team. Quick decision-making, critical problem-solving, effective team management, and strong governance are the hallmarks of a successful leader. “A good leader is someone who rides the boat with the team, keeping his neutrality, and is always able to be a good listener, solution provider, approachable, communicative, and protects the team well without hesitation to voice out when needed,” he said.

Dr. Prabagharan went on to say that if the three engines: leadership, teamwork, and skills—are in place, the overall performance KPI will readily surpass the established benchmark, and achieving great success or lofty objectives will only be a matter of time.

His wife, he says, has also been a motivator and a support system when things have been hard. The work of a property manager, who is responsible for overseeing any crises or emergencies of a building, can easily take up all day and night and frequently calls for a great deal of attention. In this context, he said that his wife has always been incredibly accepting of his work nature and has always been dedicated to his needs.
