Prof. Jayakar Thomas, a Dermatologist from Chennai, India has a work experience of 42 years of post- graduate teaching, patient care and research.
His professional journey Dermatology started in the year 1979 after completion of his post-graduate Diploma in Dermatology and a Master’s degree in 1982. His academic pursuits earned him a PhD degree and DSc. Additionally, he holds Fellowship of several Royal Colleges of UK.
He has a passion for teaching. Apart from that he has been the recipient of several awards like Appreciation Award, Lifetime achievement Award, Teacher of Teachers Award, etc.
He has been the National President of the Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists and Leprologists in the year 1998.
He was also elected as the President of the International Society of Teledermatology in the year 2012.
A voracious reader, a legendary teacher, and a masterly orator, Prof. Jayakar Thomas has to his credit more than 300 publications in National and International journals. He had edited 50 books on various subjects in dermatology.
